READY       RESPECTFUL       RESPONSIBLE        REFLECTIVE       RESILIENT

Welcome

Amongst the many things that make Ewelme School uniquely special are our gorgeous medieval buildings that raise everyone’s spirit and our wonderful rural location surrounded by trees and rolling green fields with a sports area and glorious countryside air that energises and inspires. However, more important than these is the love of learning that has been at the heart of our teaching for 600 years and has underpinned our consistently high school ratings by Ofsted, and SIAMS who rated us “Outstanding.”

Ofsted said…

“The rich and vibrant curriculum is a strength of the school. For example, when learning about the war, pupils became ‘evacuees’ for the day and when learning about the Romans they created their own aqueducts. Teachers also make good use of the school grounds, for example by inspiring pupils to create works of art from natural objects. These kinds of activities make learning meaningful, interesting and memorable for pupils. As one pupil commented.’

‘It’s the best school I’ve ever been to!’

And the school’s strong Christian ethos and core values are woven like a golden thread throughout…and are reflected in pupils’ exemplary behaviour and the way they demonstrate kindness, care and consideration for each other.” The school is a happy and purposeful community where pupils thrive. Parents are overwhelmingly positive about the school and describe the opportunity for their children to attend Ewelme as a ‘privilege’. As one parent, commented.’

‘We are lucky to have such a wonderful school in our village.’
