The children at Ewelme range in age from Early Years Foundation Stage to Year 6 (Rising 5 to 11 years old). The school has an average intake of 13 children per year. 

There are 4 classes:

Chaucer           EYFS and Year 1 with a full time Teacher and full time Teaching Assistant

Roet                 Year 2 with a full time Teacher

Burghersh     Year 3 and 4 with a full time Teacher and Teaching Assistant

De La Pole    Year 5 and 6 with a full time Teacher and Teaching Assistant

In Foundation Stage, children normally start school full time in September but can opt for part time attendance.

Teaching Assistants play a very valuable role within the life of our school.  They support the whole class or group teaching, giving extra time to children who need it.  This includes the support of children with special educational needs, the more able or boosting the mid-range children.

The children progress seamlessly through 3 learning stages:

Foundation Stage  ~  EYFS 1

Key Stage 1  ~  Years 1 & 2

Key stage 2  ~  Years 3, 4, 5 & 6
